What do homeowners ask about Tree Removal?

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in San Diego?

On private property, most trees don't require a permit. Exceptions: Heritage Trees and protected species in the City of San Diego require a $349 permit and arborist report. Trees in the public right-of-way (parkway strip) always need a city permit. HOAs in Rancho Santa Fe, Carmel Valley, Del Mar, and 4S Ranch often have their own approval process. We handle the paperwork either way.

How much does tree removal cost?

Small trees under 30 feet start around $400 to $800. Mid-size trees 30 to 60 feet run $900 to $1,800. Large specimens over 60 feet, or anything requiring a crane or tight access, run $2,000 to $3,500 or more. Eucalyptus and palms have their own pricing because of weight and disposal. Every quote is flat-rate, written, and firm.

Are you insured if something goes wrong?

Yes. We carry $2 million general liability and full workers compensation on every crew member. Ask for a certificate of insurance before any crew starts work, on our job or anyone else. If a company can't provide one, the liability falls to your homeowners policy when something breaks.

Will my yard be a mess when you leave?

No. Cleanup is part of the job, not an add-on. Crews chip limbs on-site, haul the trunk and large rounds, rake the drop zone, and run a backpack blower before we pull off. If you want the wood chips left for mulch, tell the foreman and we'll spread them where you want.

Does homeowners insurance cover tree removal?

Only when the tree has already fallen on a covered structure, house, detached garage, fence, car. A standing dead tree is a maintenance issue, not a covered loss. Some carriers pay a small removal allowance ($500 to $1,000) when a fallen tree hits a structure. We provide the documentation carriers require.

A eucalyptus limb came down on our fence during the first Santa Ana of the season. Branch Pro had a crew out within two hours, chipped and hauled everything, and the quote matched what they said on the phone. No surprise charges.

Emergency Tree Removal Carlsbad

Needed Zone 1 compliance before our insurance renewal. They walked the property, flagged the dead oak branches and the overgrown chaparral, and had it all cleared in a day. Insurance signed off first look. Exactly what I was hoping for.

Defensible Space Clearing El Cajon

Three queen palms and a Mexican fan that hadn't been touched in years. Crew climbed the fans instead of using a lift, left everything clean, and explained exactly how often each species needs servicing. Fair price, no upsell.
