Palm Service

Palm tree service. Trimmed clean, skinned, or removed.

Palms look tropical and behave differently from hardwoods. They need specific cuts (no hurricane cuts), different climbing gear (spurs damage certain species), and weight-aware rigging on removal (a queen palm trunk weighs more than you think). Our palm crew knows queen palms, Mexican fans, dates, kings, and everything in between.

What do homeowners ask about Palm Service?

How often do palms need trimming?

Queen palms and kings every 9 to 12 months, they drop fronds fast and the seed pods are constant. Mexican fan palms every 18 to 24 months for the skin-and-shape. Date palms every 6 to 12 months during fruiting season. Neglected palms become weight hazards and frond-drop nuisances.

What's a hurricane cut and why is it bad?

A hurricane cut strips the palm of all but a few top fronds. It looks tidy, but it stresses the palm, slows growth, and makes the tree lean toward the sun. Certified tree crews stop at 9-and-3 or 10-and-2 clock positions, only fully dead or dying fronds come off, plus seed pods. Aggressive cuts are cheap and destructive.

How much does palm removal cost?

Depends heavily on size and access. A small queen palm in an open lot runs $500 to $800. A mature queen palm over 30 feet in a tight backyard runs $1,200 to $2,500. A massive Mexican fan (60+ feet) requiring a crane can hit $3,500 or more. Date palms priced similarly. Disposal is expensive because palm trunks are heavy and don't chip.

Do you remove palm stumps?

Palms don't form traditional stumps, the root ball is fibrous, not woody. We cut the trunk flush and remove the crown, and the root system decomposes on its own over a year or two. If you need the spot for a replant or hardscape, we excavate the root ball for an add-on fee.

Examples of the kind of feedback we work to earn on every job. Verified reviews from real customers live on our Google Business Profile and Yelp pages.

A eucalyptus limb came down on our fence during the first Santa Ana of the season. Branch Pro had a crew out within two hours, chipped and hauled everything, and the quote matched what they said on the phone. No surprise charges.

Emergency Tree Removal Carlsbad

Needed Zone 1 compliance before our insurance renewal. They walked the property, flagged the dead oak branches and the overgrown chaparral, and had it all cleared in a day. Insurance signed off first look. Exactly what I was hoping for.

Defensible Space Clearing El Cajon

Three queen palms and a Mexican fan that hadn't been touched in years. Crew climbed the fans instead of using a lift, left everything clean, and explained exactly how often each species needs servicing. Fair price, no upsell.
